Wineholder is a simple yet striking wine rack in which the bottles themselves become part of its structure.
The project was first developed as a concept during a Polish-Israeli student workshop in 2007. Four years later, it was brought into production by WellDone, a brand established by the Być Razem Foundation in Cieszyn, which supports people in their journey back into social life.
Products created during the workshops became part of the brand’s portfolio and are, or have been, made by people supported by the foundation. As a result, a project that began as a student experiment was given a second life as a real product and a way of supporting the foundation’s social mission.
The Wineholder wine rack consists of three solid oak boards with bottle openings lined with a special foam. The boards are joined using precisely cut interlocking joints, creating a stable structure without additional fixings. The rack can hold between one and three bottles.
The form is very simple, but joining the boards required a more advanced structural solution. Ultimately, the construction itself became an important part of the object’s character: the three oak boards create a strong visual counterpoint to the bottles placed between them.
